Well folks, we won’t have to wait for some auto show to get a detailed glimpse at the upcoming Ferrari 599GTO as a set of spy shots have done the job for us. The unearthed images reveal a sturdily aggressive looking commuter, something that wasn’t hinted by the previous spy flicks. Coming from a French source, this set of images also affirms Ferrari’s love for the two-tone look which was also spotted in the previous images. The 599 GTO will sport a 6.0-liter V12 beast that will be capable of churning 690 hp at the max. Though the official details are yet to arrive, the base 599 GTO will bear a probable price tag of €267,136 and this does not include taxes. [via caradisiac.com via teamspeed.com]

Citroen Revolte Concept Official Images
The Revolte Concept from Citroen, a throwback to the 2CV, has been a matter of great confusion since no one is thoroughly sure whether it will ever make it to the production floor. The images of the concept have however broken cover and it looks like a premium sporting hatch which will borrow some traits from the Citroen DS3. At the front the small beast gets the updated Citroen grille, small headlights and a honeycomb lower face. The rear doors on the sporting hatch open rearward which maintain the C-shape form of the car at all times. We will have to wait until the Frankfurt Motor Show kicks off next week, before we know more. [via WCF]
Honda Unveils a New Compact Concept in India
Honda has upped the competition by introducing a new compact car concept, just when Toyota introduced its Etios hatchback and sedan at the Auto Expo 2010. Honda doesn’t have a name for the car yet, but it’s confident that the concept will roll out from the production lines by 2011. Auto Expo staged the world premiere for the car (a global model, they say) which comes with special changes to meet the demand of the Indian customers. It has five-seats and three doors and has been designed on the principle of ‘Man Maximum-Machine Minimum’. Courtesy of the wide platform, this compact car concept offers plenty of cabin space.
Bertone Designed Alfa Romeo Pandion First Image
Bertone is forging ahead with its Alfa Romeo Pandion as it has come up with the first images of the concept just a week after its first teaser sketch surfaced. Pandion is supposed to be showcased as one of three entrants at the Geneva Motor Show that will potentially replace the Alfa Romeo 159 also marking 100 years of existence for the brand. Design traits from the Saab Aero X and the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept can be spotted on the Bertone Alfa Romeo Pandion. It sports a sturdy looking front end, extensive glasswork and a oddly designed rear diffuser. Speculation is ripe that the concept is based on the Competizione hinting that it will be powered by a 4.7-liter V8 producing 450 bhp and 470 Nm of torque.
Saab Spkyer 9+ Tribute
Make Saab / Spyker
Model 9+ Tribute
Concept year 2010

The 9+ Tribute is based on a Spyker supercar platform
The Saab Spyker 9+ Tribute is a proposal for a Saab supercar based off a Spyker platform - a possible, if highly unlikely product, since Spyker's purchase of Saab from GM. The Saab Spyker 9+ Tribute was developed by the Swedish designer Eduard Gray. According to Gray: "This design, the 9+ Saab Spyker Tribute, is just a quick expression of my optimism for the future of the brand."
Just like the unspecified Spyker model on which it would be based, the Saab 9+ Tribute would feature a mid mounted engine. And if it's anything like the Spyker unit it would probably be an Audi-sourced V8.
In the looks department the Saab 9+ Tribute doesn't break ranks with the current Saab styling too much. It gets the Saab family grille and headlight treatment, turbine-style wheels and rather sturdy, simple lines. It's not ugly or unappealing, however it's nowhere near as pretty as Saab's own stunning Aero X concept from 2007.
Preview: Mazda Taiki
Mazda has released images of its Taiki Concept ahead of the car’s
Tokyo Motor Show debut later this month. Fourth in the Nagare design
series — which includes the Mazda Nagare, Mazda Ryuga and Mazda Hakaze
— the Taiki furthers the flowing design theme of the previous show
cars.
The front-engine rear-drive Taiki is powered by Mazda’s
next-generation RENESIS rotary engine, although Mazda failed to release
any further information about the drivetrain. Mazda says the design of
the two-seat Taiki “was inspired by the image of a pair of Hagoromo –
the flowing robes that enable a celestial maiden to fly in Japanese
legend – floating down from the sky.”
According to Mazda, the theme of the Tokyo Motor Show will be
“Sustainable Zoom-Zoom- Mazda’s showroom today and in the future.” The
Taiki will share the Tokyo stage with the Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE
Hybrid and the all-new Mazda Atenza — the Mazda6 here in the U.S.
Honda CR-Z Concept
Honda’s Tokyo Show offerings include a compact-coupe concept which paves the way for a successor to the highly successful CR-X coupe which went out of production in 1997. The Compact Renaissance Zero, or simply CR-Z, should be considered as Honda’s second attempt to revive the CR-X concept, following the poorly received Remix prototype that premiered at last year’s L.A. Show. While the CR-Z is definitely much better looking than the Remix concept, we can’t say that we’re exactly thrilled with its appearance and especially with the rear end which looks, well, just hideous. In the teaser press release, Honda says that the CR-Z is equipped with a gas-electric hybrid system which achieves both clean performance and a high level of torque.
Kia Ray Concept Debuts in Chicago
The Ray Concept was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show and it is a plug-in-hybrid concept designed for the eco-conscious. The concept features a direct injection 153hp 1.4L engine and a 78kW electric motor where the engine is mated to a CVT set-up. The Ray concept has an overall driving range of 1,200 Km and it can travel 80kms on the electric power alone while it has a fuel economy rating of more than 202mpg. The Ray Concept adjudges the driving conditions and then decides the escalation of power from the two sources i.e. the engine and the electric unit.

2007 Volkswagen GTI W12 Concept
Stronger, Faster
It seems that the GTI W12 650 comes directly from the race track. A GTI that runs like the Pace Car of the 24 hours of Le Mans. Its name means: W12 cylinder, 650 horsepower. A showcar, not more, not less. Nevertheless it shows what enormous potential the GTI has to offer.
3.7 seconds, 201 mph, 554 lb-ft
Its 6.0-liter Biturbo engine is longitudinal and placed directly behind the driver and the front seat passenger. The GTI W12 650 differentiate itself in this way from the classical central engine car. A 6-speed automatic transmission transfers 554 lb-ft to the rear axle. It catapults the GTI W12 650 to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds. With a top speed of 201 mph the GTI W12 650 leaves behind nearly all of the world’s supercars.
Still a GTI
The chassis components of the GTI W12 650 were adapted directly from supersports cars. The wheels are of course made from a light alloy and because of the gigantic wheel dimensions a specially engineered tire had to be made.
The goal was clearly defined – despite the partially dramatic technical changes the study should remain completely clear that this is a GTI. Therefore as much parts as possible were taken from the classical GTI like: the headlights, the doors, the front hood and the tail lamps. The axles were pushed 70 millimeters into the body.
The largest problem was to supply the 6-liter central engine with sufficient air and to produce sufficient drift at the rear axle without watering the silhouette of the GTI W12 650. Therefore the C-columns were re-designed in such a way that they lead air to the engine. The rear side windows run inward, so that two channels develop between the disks and the C-columns on the left and on the right to drive air to the engine.
The Carbon-fiber Roof is a Diffuser
Innovative building of the body also prevented that the lines of the GTI W12 650 to get ruined by a putting on a roof wing. The study carries the wing inward. The roof is part of an enormous diffuser, which provides sufficient drift to the rear axle. It’s made from carbon fiber and leads air under the normal tail spoiler.
Interior with Racing Ambitions
The leather is alcantara. On the middle range of the armatures are three rows of auxiliary instruments. Transparent “Flip UP” switch guards for central functions like the ESP look like taken directly from the race track.
Lamborghini Ankonian Concept Supercar
'
Designer Slavche Tanevsky is the guy guilty for coming up with this amazing & aggressive concept car. Dubbed Lamborghini Ankonian, the vehicle is meant as an upgrade to the famous Lamborghini Reventon and continues with the stealth fighter jet inspiration (already becoming a habit for the Italian manufacturer) for coming out with a pimped version of a Batmobile. Make it a radar-evasive car and take it to the production lines, that’ll make our day.
